How the CINS Community allows Nomic
to stay ahead of the game
Nomic's Threat Intelligence Gateway (TIG) continuously gathers attack data from Outpost devices around the world, as well as reputable InfoSec sources. Then, our proprietary algorithm assigns a CINS “score” to each flagged IP, identifies its country of origin, method of attack, and how frequently it attempts to strike. Based on the incoming data and specific score factors, the platform accurately identifies the specific IP addresses that pose the greatest threat.
Much like a FICO score is meant to show you at a glance the quality of your credit, the CINS score shows you the trustworthyness of an IP address. In addition, the IP's WHOIS information, country of origin, and the nature, frequency, and breadth of its attacks across the Nomic global network are listed with the score. This level of detail is hard to replicate without an existing network like ours, and our customers tell us this information adds tremendous value.
Each Nomic Outpost worldwide is continuously updated with the CINS threat intelligence and dynamically blocks malicious traffic before it penetrates the edge. While this is not the only criteria we use to keep your network secure, this active threat intelligence, analyzed in real time, provides an extra layer of protection to Nomic customers that you’re not going to get anywhere else.
Features
Collaborative Effort
CINS Army is a collaborative effort sponsored by Nomic for the purpose of defending your fundamental right to be secure on any network. The CINS Army helps defend your networks and provide you the opportunity to contribute to the security of others.
Community Sourced
CINS Army is also a way for Nomic to give back to the InfoSec community by sharing intelligence that is harvested from our intrusion prevention efforts. It's a great benefit for companies that do not have access to active threat intelligence feeds.
Growing Movement
CINS Army is a growing movement dedicated to defending our right to be secure. “Volunteers,” as we call them, contribute and benefit from using collective intelligence and working together with security professionals to strengthen networks around the world.
How the CINS Community supports Nomic customers
We work with the InfoSec community and Proofpoint. This vital open-source project helps the CINS Malicious IP Address List data be compatible with Suricata, Snort Rulesets and other popular firewall rulesets. It also provides a good way to automate deep packet inspection within your network.
300k+
A human security network of Nomic end-users.
8MM+
CINS is compatible with publicly available firewall rulesets.
